Impressive antique Chinese extra-tall cabinet from shanghai/Zhejiang area with altered doors and refitted antique latticework. Replaced new brass hinges and fittings. This cabinet with great storage capacity is created with two massive latticework sections with another bottom section with two doors. It has three drawers on the top and a row of hand-carved decoration at the bottom that is original to the cabinet. The sides of the cabinet also have latticework. Although the cabinet is created with several sections, it is one big cabinet, creating a towering look with its height and its wide use of latticework. This cabinet with a design element will have a nice presentation in any room! Cabinet itself is from the 19th-early 20th century. Dimensions: 41 3/4" L x 20 1/2" W x 84" H

Constructed in the shape of the traditional "Garden Stool" style, this unusual old Chinese Lacquered wooden stool is decorated with elegant floral design by carving into the thick layered black lacquer surface, leaving a desired relieved pattern inside the thick lacquer, then, finished again with thinner lacquer coating for the outside. This technique in lacquer work is called "Cut lacquer" or "Carved lacquer" which differs from carving on the wooden surface first and then finish the object with lacquer finish outside. This stool has been fully restored from its original much deteriorating condition, leaving traces of worn and used marks present. This stool is estimated to be from the early 20th century or older. Antique Chinese Two-Door Book chest with Original Thick Red Lacquer. This northern chest, sitting on an attached base, is solidly built and has been refinished in several layers of thick clear lacquer coating over its lovely organic red pigment and old patina. It has circular thick old brass plates on the door. The inside is an open space that is missing a shelf. But one can be easily installed. This lovely chest with an excellent size, not too big, can fit in any space or any room without feeling too bulky for the space. It is very useful for storing personal items, stationery, or any other treasures! It's deep, rich, and vibrant red color certainly can steal the eyes in a crowd! At the front of the trunk, it has simple raised lacquer design of what look might be temple objects such as incense burner and ancient vessel and fruits or flowers. On the top, one can see its beautiful patina on the evenly worn lacquer surface through time like a modern abstract painting. Objects made with such thick lacquer hand-built with many layers in the ancient traditional technique have been treasured by Chinese art and furniture collectors for their beauty and skills presented. Though this trunk is considered a utilitarian ware, nevertheless, it speaks for the thousand years' old lacquer art in its own uniqueness. Antique Chinese Carrying Style Chest with Drawers and Compartments Inside. This very heavy larger antique carrying chest/box is made of hardwood. It has some replacements of other wood and metal fitting as well. This chest contains four separate drawers with several distinct compartments inside three of the drawers. Such chest was probably made to cater the need for storing specific objects. The wood is incredibly heavy but hard to see what type of hardwood it is. The bottom of the drawers were made of elm or walnut, likely replaced. The Chest is painted in dark/black lacquer overall. 19 or early 20th century. Dimensions: 15 1/8" L x 11 1/8" W x 13 3/4" H

Good Antique Older Shandong Style Carved Coffer with Old Lacquer. This wonderful antique coffer has a deeper depth that makes it an ideal piece for a kitche isle or any space requiring a larger wlorkable surface. Made of northern Chinese elm, Yu wood, this coffer is beautifully carved with simpler motives, compared to many elaborately carved Shandong coffers, including triangular shaped half-floral motif with multiple petals at the face of the drawers, as well as a special Ming style motif of curved long grass or floral design tied in the middle. The carved long spandrels on the two sides are also carved with the similar curved floral and leaf design with flower buds, infused with cloud or ruyi like pattern that is similar to a stylized dragon. Some of the brass fitting has been replaced, otherwise, the coffer itself is in excellent condition as it still retains all the original aged lacquer finish at the front of coffer. The top has been worn and possibly lightly stripped as well to reveal the beautiful wood grain. The drawers are big and deep, great for storing objects. Possibly from the 18-19th century. Dimensions: 41 1/2" L x 28 1/4" D x 33 3/4" H

Rare and Unusual Antique Official's Style Wooden Chest with Storage and Drawers Inside. Made of Bai wood (a type of cypress). The brass fitting has been replaced, and the front moveable covering wood board has also been replaced with northern elm. The inside of the chest contains a deep space for storage on the top section. Underneath, there are two drawers that are disguised with the covering board. Such chest was likely used to store important personl belongings. 19th century or older. Dimensions: 16 1/2" L x 10" W x 14 1/2" H
