    This beautiful massive size Imari plate is hand-painted with beautiful seasonal flowers, bonsai floral pot, rocks, and wooden fences in six divided columns circling the plate. The middle is delicately painted with what looks like might be camellia or peony flowers with large foliage. The plate is painted in a tasteful subdued dark blue, sienna brown red, light orange, green, and light yellow on a white ground. The back side of the plate is embedded with some signature under the clear glaze that is hard to see. Such impressive porcelain plate makes a great decorative piece for a interior living space. 19th century. In excellent condition. Dimensions: 18 1/8" Diameter x 2 5/8" H

    The rich colors on this painted trunk derive from precious organic mineral compounds and vegetation. It is incredible to see that the colors remain so beautifully vivid and still in excellent condition after all the years. The raised painted lacquer work is commonly seen in some painted Tibetan furniture work, often with nice detail reflecting the devotion of painter in this time consuming pursue of its artistry. The scaled dragon is presented in a curled form circled by a shape with twelve petals. Its face is painted with wide open mouth, two horns on the head, and big eyes. Outside the twelve petal shape, the surface is decorated with painted stylized characters like that of Chinese of "double-happiness" and other commonly used Tibetan motives. The four corners of the trunk are painted with auspicious clouds as well as the four-petaled flowers on the bands, all painted in beautiful red, yellow, green, and other colors. The metal fittings on the lid have been replaced. Estimated to be from the 18-19th century. This trunk makes a focal point with its warm colors and bold dragon design that adds to the sophistication of a space. Dimensions: 43 7/8" L x 17" D x 21" H

    Large Size Old Silk Thangka Painting with a figure that looks like a White Tara with many small Buddhas, painted in organic color pigments made of minerals and vegetation. The outside brocade that frames the painting has deteriorated. White Tara in Tibetan Buddhism represents longevity and healing in practice. In the picture, the figure in the center sits on a lotus throne with crossed feet. Her right arm resting on the knee, with fingers pointing downward, while her left arm holding a flower stem. Her face is gently painted with two eyes only (most Tara forms bear seven eyes). This large size Thangka might have been used or hung at a temple or a monastery for the worship purpose. Its lovely colors and rendetion of the main figure resembling the style of some works painted in the 18th century. Exact age unknown. Over 100 years. As is condition.
