    This early Qing Dynasty square stool with excellent styling and rounded construction is a beautiful example of early furniture pieces when all parts of the piece are hand made to the right proportions, with a simplistic design in style and strongly built with solid joinery that lasts for several hundred years and more. The unfinished wood surface has developed a subtle reddish hue in the blond wood that looks denser through time. One sees the well thought out design with all parts of the stool cohesively created in rounded shapes with the rounded legs which the Chinese in the trad call it "Round-wrapped-in-round (Yuan-Bao-Yuan)". all parts are substantially and elegantly built with an proportion that is appealing to the eyes. Older Chinese furniture pieces from the earlier period with a good styling and good build are becoming more scarce. 18th century. Dimensions: 17 1/4"x17 1/4"x18 3/4" H

    Antique Chinese Carrying Style Chest with Drawers and Compartments Inside. This very heavy larger antique carrying chest/box is made of hardwood. It has some replacements of other wood and metal fitting as well. This chest contains four separate drawers with several distinct compartments inside three of the drawers. Such chest was probably made to cater the need for storing specific objects. The wood is incredibly heavy but hard to see what type of hardwood it is. The bottom of the drawers were made of elm or walnut, likely replaced. The Chest is painted in dark/black lacquer overall. 19 or early 20th century. Dimensions: 15 1/8" L x 11 1/8" W x 13 3/4" H

    Good Antique Older Shandong Style Carved Coffer with Old Lacquer. This wonderful antique coffer has a deeper depth that makes it an ideal piece for a kitche isle or any space requiring a larger wlorkable surface. Made of northern Chinese elm, Yu wood, this coffer is beautifully carved with simpler motives, compared to many elaborately carved Shandong coffers, including triangular shaped half-floral motif with multiple petals at the face of the drawers, as well as a special Ming style motif of curved long grass or floral design tied in the middle. The carved long spandrels on the two sides are also carved with the similar curved floral and leaf design with flower buds, infused with cloud or ruyi like pattern that is similar to a stylized dragon. Some of the brass fitting has been replaced, otherwise, the coffer itself is in excellent condition as it still retains all the original aged lacquer finish at the front of coffer. The top has been worn and possibly lightly stripped as well to reveal the beautiful wood grain. The drawers are big and deep, great for storing objects. Possibly from the 18-19th century. Dimensions: 41 1/2" L x 28 1/4" D x 33 3/4" H

    Rare and Unusual Antique Official's Style Wooden Chest with Storage and Drawers Inside. Made of Bai wood (a type of cypress). The brass fitting has been replaced, and the front moveable covering wood board has also been replaced with northern elm. The inside of the chest contains a deep space for storage on the top section. Underneath, there are two drawers that are disguised with the covering board. Such chest was likely used to store important personl belongings. 19th century or older.     This tool chest with a tapeies for making a living such as scissors, coins, and others, and possibly was used by a street trader, such as a traveling barber, to keep all his business tools in one place. The single board top to the ground is the perfect height for one to sit on and get a haircut! This older piece has tapered legs with an unusual "melon" design carved on its four solid legs that were constructed with one solid piece of wood for each leg, giving an illusion that each leg might have been constructed with several pieces of wood, a structure seen often in 18th century Chinese furniture pieces. This "melon" look in design embeds a wish for life's prosperity with genrations to succeed like that of many melons produced from a vine plant. The two top drawers have replacements of wood and fitting on the face. The bottom spandrels with a pomegranet design has also been replaced. Such tool chest is handy to carry with small tools stored inside the drawers. One could also sit on it to relax during a break time! Possibly 18-19th century. Dimensions: 21 1/2" L x 4 1/2" D x 17 3/4" H
