This Antique Chinese Hand-Painted Dark Red Two-Door Cabinet with floral design is solidly of Yu wood (northern elm). It is constructed with a Si-Ping style joinery on the top. The inside is missing a shelf, but has the supporting bars on the side for a new shelf to be made. The rextangular shape of brass plates has been replaced and is a common style for small cabinets form northern China, particularly Shanxi region. This cabinet makes a great bedside cabinet with a lamp on or as a side table next to a chair or a couch. Late 19-early 20th century.
