This Wonderful Antique Carved Ming Style Lady's Small Chair with a lamp hanger style headrest is from the Ningbo area in China. The overall style of the chair is unique to the region. It has the original reddish brown lacquer color made from organic color pigments. This tastfully made and designed small chair is made of southern Chinese cypress. The single splat back is carved with two auspicious flying bats, while the cross spandrel under the seat is carved with an open key design with a stylized dragon in the center. This chair is in excellent condition. Over 100 years old and possily from the 17-18th century.
