This elegant smaller size side chair made of exotic mahogany grade of hardwood with old marble stone inlay is constructed with all rounded edges. It has a replaced old rattan soft seat that dates the chair to at least from the mid to early Qing period or older. Older chairs made of excellent hardwood like this one with a soft seat is rare. This chair is well proportioned and is from the Zhiang-Zhe area where Some of the best craftsmanship in Chinese woodwork occurred. this chair has excellent original wood patina. With some repairs.
