This Well Constructed Antique Northern Chinese Painted Square-Cornered Two-Door Cabinet is hand-painted with various floral and Buddhist-Hand fruit design on a beautiful dark sienna red background. The fitting has been replaced. The recessed side walls of the cabinet is further enhanced with supporting crossed bars for durability. This cabinet from the greater Shanxi area is generously built with solid northern elm and is in excellent condition. It makes a nice presentation for a space that needs a little color enhancement. This Rare Antique Ming Style Tapered Cabinet with Two-Doors and Bottom Drawers is constructed with a tasteful design with rounded legs and corners. It is made of Yu wood, northern Chinese elm, and has a replaced circular brass plates at the front. Inside the cabinet, there is a set of two drawers with a board on top as a shelf. Cabinet like this one is versatile with its elegant design and good storage that well suits many spaces. There are traces of dark lacquer can still be seen on various spots on the cabinet. This small apothecary chest with an unusual size and design has beautiful original black lacquer although the top had been stripped blond. Each drawer has divided compartments inside. Some were chewed by the mouse from storing the herbs. The surface of all the drawers was fitted with an original old Chinese coin as pull plate and an original old drawer pull. The writings of the herbal names are original writings. The edges of the top display area is carved with auspicious pomegranate design on all sides. This very heavy and unusual apoethecary chest makes a nice table top storage unit, whether for herbs or for storing other personal objects! 19th century. Dimensiosn: 20 5/8" L x 17 7/8" W x 25 3/4" H

Antique Chinese Gilt-Painted Red Lacquer Chest with Carved Base. This beautiful cabinet is gilt-painted with vessels holding lotus and peony flower on each of the door with some of the paintings faded. It is constructed with a Si-Ping (Flushed-Corner) style joinery. It's carved base with pomegrante design elevates the chest with a more elegant presentation style. Inside of the chest has an original shelf for storing objects. This chest, after all the years, still retains its beauitful original red lacquer color. The circulkar brass plates have been replaced. This northern chest, sitting on an attached base, is solidly built and has been refinished in several layers of thick clear lacquer coating over its lovely organic red pigment and old patina. It has circular thick old brass plates on the door. The inside is an open space that is missing a shelf. But one can be easily installed. This lovely chest with an excellent size, not too big, can fit in any space or any room without feeling too bulky for the space. Antique Chinese Carrying Style Chest with Drawers and Compartments Inside. This very heavy larger antique carrying chest/box is made of hardwood. It has some replacements of other wood and metal fitting as well. This chest contains four separate drawers with several distinct compartments inside three of the drawers. Such chest was probably made to cater the need for storing specific objects. The wood is incredibly heavy but hard to see what type of hardwood it is. The bottom of the drawers were made of elm or walnut, likely replaced. The Chest is painted in dark/black lacquer overall. 19 or early 20th century. Dimensions: 15 1/8" L x 11 1/8" W x 13 3/4" H

The brass fitting has been replaced, and the front moveable covering wood board has also been replaced with northern elm. The inside of the chest contains a deep space for storage on the top section. Underneath, there are two drawers that are disguised with the covering board. Such chest was likely used to store important personl belongings. 19th century or older. The cabinet has nice and well carved auspicious bat (good luck and longevity) ad key design on the drawers. The post style doors are supported by beautifully carved and worn holder in cloud shape Ling-Zhi (medicinal mushroom) design. This late 19-early 20th century cabinet made of beautiful wood can work quite well as a bedside cabinet or anywhere in the house. Small Antique Northern Chinese Painted Red Lacquer Cabinet from Shanxi province with Auspicious Symbols in bold and bright colors on the original red lacquer background from organic mineral compound. The motives include flower vases for harmony and peace, temple objects such as incense burner and fruit offering, and scholarly books and scrolls. The button spandrel is carved with a large bat with extending wigs, while the cabinet is decorated with twined peony flowers around the frame. Chinese furniture is often decorated, whether by carving or being painted, with many traditional Chinese auspicious motives probably more than other forms of Chinese art. This is because furniture is directly associated with one's living space and everyday living and is part of the architecture, these symbols reflect a culture and general people's wishes for a better life and future generations. This square-cornered two-door cabinet with a flat style construction and painted surface was in a very rough condition but with a good bone, so we have spent a lot of time restoring the damaged lacquer part to bring it to a usable, solid, and beautiful cabinet to use. The inside of the cabinet is very clean and has one shelf, but there is enough room for another shelf if desired. Early 20th century. Dimensions: 26 1/2" L x 16 12/" D x 33 1/2" H
