Antique Chinese Carrying Style Chest with Drawers and Compartments Inside.

This very heavy larger antique carrying chest/box is made of hardwood. It has some replacements of other wood and metal fitting as well. This chest contains four separate drawers with several distinct compartments inside three of the drawers. Such chest was probably made to cater the need for storing specific objects. The wood is incredibly heavy but hard to see what type of hardwood it is. The bottom of the drawers were made of elm or walnut, likely replaced. The Chest is painted in dark/black lacquer overall. 19 or early 20th century.
