This early Qing Dynasty square stool with excellent styling and rounded construction is a beautiful example of early furniture pieces when all parts of the piece are hand made to the right proportions, with a simplistic design in style and strongly built with solid joinery that lasts for several hundred years and more. The unfinished wood surface has developed a subtle reddish hue in the blond wood that looks denser through time. One sees the well thought out design with all parts of the stool cohesively created in rounded shapes with the rounded legs which the Chinese in the trad call it "Round-wrapped-in-round (Yuan-Bao-Yuan)". all parts are substantially and elegantly built with an proportion that is appealing to the eyes.
