Pair of Antique Chinese Carved Window Screens with Figures from the Ziang-Zhe area. The openwork on the top is elaborately carved with figures in a courtyard and inside a pavilion enclosed in an eight-sided floral form, further circled in a round geometric shape, flanked by twined vegetation with flying insects. All carved with one piece of wood inserted into the outside frame.
The bottom half is created with one separate square shape of wood inserted into an open frame in the middle of the design, also carved with figures in the courtyard scene as well. Outside the squared center, the surrounding area is carved with twined floral design on four separate pieces of wood and inserted to the outer broad frame. In unfinished good condition. Estimated to be 150 years old or so. sold and priced as a pair.
