A pair of rare antique Chinese hexagonal shape carved wooden dishes in a “Zhu-Jin (red and gilt) “ combination with beautiful blue and green organic color pigments derived from mineral and vegetation as well. This pair of dishes was made for a bride as part of her dowry for daily wares as it was a local custom in Zhiang-Zhe and Fujian area to give the bride items with red color. For the families who had even more lucrative income, the combination of red and gilt were used to showcase the social status.
