清代編牡丹如意壽字手提方竹籃）This beautiful bamboo carrying basket from the late Qing period is woven with a delicate Ruyi（to-your-wish) design along the border at the top and in the middle, of the front and the back side, forming two peony flower (牡丹花) like medallions with a Shou (壽，Longevity) character in between. Such basket with the auspicious symbols was likely used by a lady for carrying her embroidery tools or other small personal items used daily. This bamboo basket with its original old brass fitting came from the Ningbo/ Jiangzhe area.
