Description
This rare 17-18th century Ju wood lamp-hanger style side chair is carved with an early dragon motif on the single splat back. The shape of the horizontal rail on the top of the back rest gives the name of the "lamp hanger" to the chair. Early style Ju wood chair like this one often has a lower seat that gives the chair a nice "settled' elegance with its overall proportions and look. It is missing some of the carved ornamented supports in between the seat and the railings right below the seat.
