Description
Pair of rare antique screen doors with original organic red color pigment and gilt. These doors have a very intricate carved phoenix and floral design. In original unfinished condition. 250-300 years old. The vase with flowers or the basket with flowers is a symbol used often in Chinese art for prosperity and harmony in a home. The pronunciation of the Chinese character "vase" is the same as that of the character "harmony' or "peace". Phoenix is a symbol of female excellence.
