Antique Brass Box with Hand-Carved Calligraphy Poem with Chinese government's antique wax seal. The back of the box has an engraved signature but is partially worn out and is hard to read the characters. This box is possibly from the late 19-early 20th century.

The beautifully carved calligraphy came from a Tang dynasty poem by poet 盧綸 (Lu-Lun). The poem expresses personal feeling and thought through spring rain and dark cloud over the reflection of water in a flowering landscape, implying the uncertainty towards life and future. The last two beautifully written phrases: the floating petals on the water knows how deep or shallow the water is; no one knows what the ancient and the presence will bring.
