This bar stool/ chair was designed in 2010 and produced at about the same time when the other side chair (#26) was designed and produced as an after thought. Dimensions: 37”h x 15.25”w x 15”d.
This particular bar stool perhaps was among the most successful works I have designed for one single reason- “It is the most comfortable bar stool I have ever sit in!” as many clients claimed. Though I had only have it produced it for a couple times since many years ago, I still constantly get request for it.
This chair essentially was handmade and hand-planked with solid aged Chinese elm, carrying the same classical line that extends the woodwork from the highest point of the stool on the two side rails on the back rest to the bottom of the back legs for its durability and aesthetics even when looking at the piece from the back. Part of this design took many tries by different people, including myself, with different body structure sitting on a regular chair until a desired height of the back rest and the curve were achieved. This low back rest sits perfectly at a low back point for many people, giving the low back a strong and sturdy support it needs. The foot rest towards the bottom of the feet allows people to comfortably rest their feet while having a conversation.
