This TV cabinet/stand was designed by April Shen in March 2010 and first produced by the wood factory in China in May 2010. Dimensions: 64"w x 19"d x 26"h & & 42”w x 15.25”d x 26.5”h.
The name of this piece came from the use of the “honeycomb” latticework. The "honeycomb" latticework used on the doors on this dark color cabinet reminds one of some familiar moment behind the depth of its geometric shape-some sweet memory of the honey sweet flowers during the childhood, some happy and not so happy times washed away and screened by time, and the solidity of fruitful experience in growth. This cabinet comes in both large and small size.
The “Three-Planks-Joined-Into-One” (Sun He Yi) style that is used to construct the top and the two sides of the frame in a curve style derived from the design of ancient Chinese lute tables.
The “honeycomb” latticework is one of the many lattice patterns used on old Chinese doors and windows. On this piece, this latticework was carved out rather than assembled.
