Description
Pair of Antique Architectural Corbel Carvings of Deer and Ling-Zhi Medicinal Mushroom. With great expression and detail, the motif of a deer biting a Ling-Zhi mushroom is a traditional Chinese auspicious motif. Deer is a symbol of longevity, while Ling-Zhi is an expensive ingredient used in the traditional Chinese medicine to help to boost one's immune system and has been relished since ancient China for helping to cure the weak ones. There are some losses on the wood, otherwise, in general good condition. 150-200 years old.
