This wonderful Antique Red Lacquer Wooden Wedding Box has all the original hand-forged old fitting with a beautiful carved circular round plate at front and even the original hinges on the back of the box. It has a tray inside on the top. The red pigment is made from precious ground organic compound which only shows more depth of the color through time. This excellent antique wedding box speaks of a bride's longing from the past era for a newly married life to a new home, where in this box she kept all her personal small belongings with loving wishes from her own family and parents. Late 19 to early 20th century.
