Description

This beautiful old oval shaped bamboo basket is painted with organic color pigment made from ground mineral and vegetation. It has a very nice painted top in old black lacquer. The inside are woven with calligraphy in both "Double-Happiness" and "Blessing". Brass fitting is old. This is a wedding box for the bride. The bottom has repair. Early 20th century.
