Large screen with an inserted panel painted in an elaborate original painting of immortals in vivid colors on paper mache. The painted panel is inserted in a beautifully carved early style wood base painted with various natural colors made of vegetalbe dyes and minerals, including red, indigo blue, and white color.
The wooden base is carved with a drum shape and an "Open-Window" design, fitted with large iron rings on two sides. The inserted panel is slightly warped. This item is an exceptional. Few vintage or old paper mache objects were found in such massive size and with such lavish colors.
