Description
Antique Footed Narcissus Bowl in Rare Begonia Flower Shape with Rare Painted Motives. This beautiful mid 19th century Blue-and-White bowl was used to plant and hold the narcissus flower by burying the bulbs with the rocks and sand and watering until they blossomed. The delicately painted patterns on the bowl is quite interesting and beautiful with rare motives such as leaves look like from the lily plants and some fully blossomed five-petal flowers with extended spikes and swirls at the edge of the flowers, among the more common "twined" flower design. The wax seal at the bottom of the planter/ bowl is the antique seal proof provided by the Chinese government's Relics department. A footed vessel is often considered a more elegant design in Chinese porcelain ware. Some very minor losses on the glaze and the rim of the bowl as well as old scratches inside the bowl, otherwise in excellent condition.

Dimensions: 7 3/8" x 5 1/2" x 1 1/2" H
