Antique Henan Style Hand-Clapped Round Vase with Oxidized Thick Black Glaze. This utilitarian jar was hand-made with a clapping technique in two halves and joined together in a thick clay body. It was likely made for storing liquor or wine. Its beautiful and thick black glaze with an iridescent look is similar to the ones used on some of the old Chinese tea bowls with the oxidized effect as one can see a lighter strip of a long leafy shape running through the body of the jar. Estimated to be 150-200 years old. In excellent condition.
