This small narrow cabinet has received the 2009 Design Journals’ ADEX Award’s second place of a Gold Award.
This cabinet was designed in the year of 2003 and produced in 2004 once in a small batch in both light and dark color with Northern Chinese elm wood.
It was reproduced again in 2008 in a smoother finish in both light and dark wood color.
This simple cabinet was designed with a notion combining both traditional old Japanese tansu furniture look and the Chinese element of large circular brass plates from the larger size old Chinese cabinets and armoires.
The use of the “crossed bars” design on the two doors was designed to give a more “detailed” look of the woodwork, allowing the different depths of the surfaces to create even a shadowy illusion.
This small cabinet was designed with a narrower depth in mind to accommodate any small space that required a piece with a narrower depth for the walkway.
The inside of the cabinet is lined with two wooden shelves providing handy storage for small books or small items.
