Description
Pair of very rare whimsical and beautiful 17-18th century "Pao-Long (running dragon) style roof tile dragons with high pedestal with auspicious clouds in tri-colors "San-Cai" glaze; as-is (glaze worn and some minor chips. One dragon has repaired tail).
These dragons were created to compliment the main figures of the big dragons in decorating the multiple rooftops. The term of the "Pao-Long, Running Dragon" is also used in Peking Opera for the role of supporting actors.
