This rare bench is made of rarer Chinese walnut hardwood with a thick single-plank top. The long spandrels are carved in pomegranate design stretched out to join the legs together in a shape like a tree trunk. It has older style of "Tong & Glue" construction. Such large bench made with a very thick and long single-plank hardwood top is precious and a novelty item. This bench is beautifully finished in its primal look. The wood is incredibly beautiful. The whole bench flows in a beautiful tree shape like a sheet of music! Old bench with such massive size, made of large plank of expensive hardwood, and dated older, is rare and precious. Some replacement of wood. It is beautifully finished in French Polish finish.
