Description
Ex-Long size Antique Bank Chest, made of northern Chinese elm, with Drawers and Doors altered to accommodate the modern use. This piece has beautiful original thick hand-forged iron fitting on the top for a lock (lock is not available). With traces of old red lacquer on the doors that were lightly refinished recently. Such bank chest was used for transportation and storage of valuable objects such as gold or silver nuggets, and others. This piece is much longer than most similar bank chests. 150-300 years old.
