Description
Small Size Painted Black Lacquer Shanxi Style Wooden Box, painted with precious organic color pigments made from ground minerals and vegetation. This color-striking box is painted mostly with lavish blue and white color on the black ground, with figures conversing outside of buildings in a mountainous landscape. It has original large old brass front plates. With various worn spots and small losses on the lacquer. Sold as is. Early 20th century.
