    This classical style smaller size armchair is possibly made of Huali type of dense hardwood, still retains its original brown lacquer finish with a carved Buddhist's hand fruit design on the single splat back rest and colored in organic red mineral color with gilt. It has a nice proportion which shows the chair sits lower with a wider spread in its form which often found in earlier armchairs. This chair has been restored and touched up while retaining its original patina. It is solid and will last for another 100 years or more. 180-250 years old. Dimensions: 19 3/4" x 15 3/5" x 31" H

    Antique Chinese Table Screen with Stone Plaque with original Painting and Calligraphy Poem. This wonderful antique table screen with a Ming style thick wooden frame has an elegant rounded begonia flower style corner construction with divided sections inserted with recessed smaller wooden plaques with a slender begonia shape in "open window" style cutouts. The frame is in its original old black lacquer. The wood might be Yu wood (northern elm) or Chinese walnut. The stone plaque is securely inserted into the center of the wooden frame and can not be removed. One side of the screen is painted with beautiful array of colors in red, yellow, light green, and brown with some colors already faded. It depicts a scene of a high-ranked official, flanked by two young attendants with a horse, visiting or asking the way from a hermit who carries a bamboo woven basket on his side, all in a mountainous landscape. The other side of the stone plaque is written with a poem in calligraphy with signature and chops, with some writing faded. The poem seems to depict a beautiful scenery with water and reflection while awaiting for the guest from the past. This is a rare stone table screen with original beautiful painted colors and poem on a white stone plaque. Some old cracks on the stone. As is. A table screen was often used to define an intimate personal space on a scholarly desk. It is also a symbol of status for the literati class as well as being used for Feng-Shui purpose. A beautiful table screen is a collector's favorite and sought-after object in collecting Chinese art. Dimensions: 17 3/4" x 7 1/2" D (foot) x 19 1/4" H

    Antique Small Size Hand-Painted wooden Chest with A Young Boy and Bird. This interesting chest with a rare original motif of a young boy holding an auspicious magpie bird was specially created to store a child's belongings. It came from the Shanxi area in China. Such chests were popular to use for children believing that they brought good luck, safety, and prosperity. A commonly seen motif on these boxes would be a painted Fu-lion with majority of the boxes found being made in the earlier part of the 20th century and often repainted.     Small Antique Japanese Hibachi with Drawers and Copper Insert. This antique hibachi made of Japan's Keyaki wood with beautiful large grain is fitted with a glass top to use as a small or side coffee table by the previous owner. The wood grain is particularly large and beautiful on this one. On the sides, one also is pleasantly surprised to find two beautifully hand-carved and shaped wood handles. Some cracks in the wood, sold as is. Its compact size is nice and makes it easy to use in many spots. Meiji period. The center old copper insert was filled with burning coals at old days, while a hanging bamboo or wood stick suspended from the ceiling to the top of the hibachi carried a metal container with water or food to be heated or to keep warm. Dimensions: 26 5/8" x 13 1/8" x 14 3/4" H
