Description
Excellent antique wooden saddle with carved symbolic patterns on the old brass and beautiful original orange color lacquer on the dense blond hardwood, possibly "Gao-Li" wood. French Polish finish. Though old Chinese wooden saddles can be found occasionally, this one that is made of hardwood with the unusual old brass fitting and the beautiful original old thick orange color lacquer is rarer. It is a beautiful piece for the ones who collect horse-riding related art objects. This piece is refinished in a light clear lacquer to protect the wooden surface.
